The University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Use Policy has been implemented to safeguard the wellbeing and the privacy of UHSP students, faculty, staff, visitors, and neighbors, protect University buildings and property, and establish a safe and compliant UAS operating culture for research, teaching, and professional activities.

I. Permitted Uses and Operations of Unmanned Aircraft Systems
A. Recreational Use: The use of UAS on the UHSP campus, or in University owned, rented, or leased property or buildings by individuals for recreational purposes is strictly prohibited.
B. Non-recreational Uses: Due to the complexity and dynamic nature of FAA UAS regulations at this time, anyone desiring to use a UAS for research, teaching, or professional activities on or from the UHSP campus, or in University owned, rented, or leased property or buildings, shall contact the Office of Environmental Health & Safety or General Counsel for guidance on how to meet current FAA regulatory requirements.
II. Sanctions
Violations of this policy will be handled by the appropriate judicial or performance review processes for violator(s), typically Campus Life or Human Resources. Violations resulting in damage, injury, or death, or repeat violations, may result in more severe sanctions up to and including suspension, expulsion, or termination.
