The Smoking and Tobacco Use Policy details the prohibition against smoking or using tobacco products on the campus of St. Louis College of Pharmacy.

Applies to all faculty, staff, students, contractors, vendors, volunteers and visitors conducting business or participating in activities on the College campus.





All forms of tobacco, including but not limited to, cigarettes (commercial or handmade), oral tobacco (spit and spit less, chew, snuff), cigars, cigarillos, pipes, water pipes (hookah), electronic cigarettes, smokeless tobacco products, or any other smoking material or device.

College Campus

College-owned or leased buildings, College-owned or leased parking garages, College outdoor spaces.

STLCOP Community

All faculty, staff, students, contractors, vendors, volunteers and visitors conducting business or participating in activities on the College campus.


St. Louis College of Pharmacy seeks to provide a healthy, comfortable, and productive work and educational environment for its employees, students, patients and visitors. To further this objective, use of tobacco products and smoking (including use of cigarettes, cigars, pipes, hookahs, e-cigarettes, other devices and smokeless/chewing tobacco) is strictly prohibited on the College’s campus and within all parking garages (leased or owned), vehicles, and College-owned/-leased buildings.

This applies to personally owned and rented vehicles when located on campus facilities or used to transport faculty, staff or students on any College-related business, academic or student life activities.

In addition, smoking within twenty feet of College building entry or exit points is prohibited.

The sale of tobacco products is prohibited on the STLCOP campus.


  1. Education
    1. The College will provide information concerning smoking cessation programs available through its health insurance provider.
    2. The College will disseminate its Smoking and Tobacco Use Policy through the online Policy Library.
  2. Responsibility
    1. Effective implementation of this policy depends on the courtesy, respect, and cooperation of all members of the College community. All College community members share the responsibility of adhering to and enforcing the policy and have responsibility for communicating the policy to visitors in a courteous and considerate manner.
  3. Compliance
    1. The primary goal is to achieve voluntary compliance with the Smoking and Tobacco Use Policy by educating College community members about the existence of the policy, the rationale for the policy, and the availability of tobacco cessation support services.
    2. Students
      1. Refer to the Student Code for sanctions related to violations.
    3. Employees
      1. Disciplinary action for repeated violations of the policy may range from a verbal warning up to termination of employment.
    4. Visitors
      1. Visitors who violate the policy should be educated that the College is a tobacco-free campus. Visitors who refuse to comply with the policy following this education will be removed from campus. Habitual offenders will be issued a no trespass warning.
