This Policy sets forth the University's rules and regulations to support responsible consumption and possession of alcohol for students and their guests in the Residence Hall.
Applies to students residing in the South Residence Hall and their guests.

Residence Hall |
For the sake of this policy, the Residence Hall referred to in this policy is the building located at 4576 Parkview Place St. Louis, MO 63110, also referred to as the South Residence Hall. |
The University has decided to grant privileges in the Residence Hall to students who are of lawful drinking age, provided that they conduct themselves at all times in a legal and responsible manner. Resident students and guests who are 21 years of age will be allowed to consume and store alcoholic beverages in private rooms in the Residence Hall. Underage drinking, purchasing or furnishing alcohol to minors, possession of excessive amounts of alcohol on campus, open containers in public, and use of rapid consumption devices is prohibited. Violations of this policy may result in sanctions for violation of the Residence Hall Handbook including, without limitation, termination of the housing contract and separation from the University.
I. Resident students under twenty-one (21) years of age in the Residence Hall are prohibited from possessing or consuming alcoholic beverages. Alcohol is permitted for resident students in the Residence Hall twenty-one (21) years of age or older.
III. Possession and/or consumption of alcohol or alcohol containers in public areas, regardless of age, is prohibited. All areas in a residence hall, except for private rooms, are considered public areas.
IV. Given health concerns related to over-consumption and rapid consumption of alcohol, students may not possess excessive amounts of alcohol on campus and/or use devices intended for the rapid consumption of alcohol, including, but not limited to kegs, beer bongs, tap devices, plastic funnel devices or “funneling”, “shotgunning”, beer pong and all other high risk drinking behavior and games.
V. A student of legal drinking age, living in the Residence Hall, may not possess more than one case of beer, two liters of wine, or one liter of distilled spirits.
VI. Possession of all alcohol paraphernalia is prohibited. Students found with alcohol paraphernalia or more than the allowed amount of alcohol in their private rooms are subject to termination of the housing contract.
VII. Home brewing processes of any kind are not permitted in the Residence Hall. Home brewing processes discovered in resident’s private rooms will result in the termination of the housing contract.

IX. Any student, regardless of age, found to be acutely intoxicated will be evaluated by UHSP Public Safety for possible hospital treatment.
X. All resident students are responsible for the actions of their guests.
